There are moments during pregnancy (probably when you’re doubled over with morning sickness or lower back pain) when you think, “Oh geez, seven more months of this?” In the throws of the moment, you feel like it’s going to last forever; however, hindsight eventually comes along and makes us think differently.

Pregnancy photography is a great way for us to slow down and savor the experience of growing another being inside our bellies. Whether its your first or your fifth, it’s a life changing experience. Hell, we’re sure even Michelle Dugger felt her 19th pregnancy was special.

Big, big news at The Spoiled Mama

Hello Mamas!

We’ve been waiting in eager anticipation the past couple months to share our exciting news with all our friends, fans and family…

This will be our founder Tamara Johnson’s second itty bitty one, and her first since she was inspired to start The Spoiled Mama skincare line. (Yes, that means we were brewing a lot of our Happy Mornings Sippin’ Tea for Nausea around here in the office.) With the end of her first trimester, we are looking forward to her “lemon” growing into a full-fledged baby!

Our favorite question so far from Jaiden is, "Mom, when does the baby burst out?"
Our favorite question so far from big brother Jayden (5) is, "Mom, when is the baby going to break out?"

Is is safe to cut carbs during pregnancy?

Here’s a question from one of our Spoiled Mamas:

“Hi Tamara,

You don’t know how helpful your blog has been! You have given me enough self-confidence to go through this pregnancy.

Right now I am 6 weeks pregnant and I really want to avoid gaining too much weight over the Holidays. I generally keep my weight down by keeping my carb intake low.

Is that OK? What is considered to be a ‘healthy’ amount of carbs for a pregnant woman?

Great question Amanda! This is definitely a hot topic considering so many people are focused on completely eliminating carbs from their diet and during the Holidays it is tough. However, during pregnancy it is an entirely different set of “rules.”
