Since our founder Tamara Johnson has become preggers with her second child, it’s been a lot of fun watching her “dot” turn into a full-fledged exclamation point. (It’s especially amusing to watch her squeeze into cramped spaces with her belly — sorry Tamara!)

But now we want to turn the tables and see all of your precious bumps!

Show off your beautiful belly with The Spoiled Mama’s Show Us Your Bump! Facebook Photo Contest. One lucky mama will win a $75 gift certificate to our online store.

The instructions are simple:

1) “Like” us on Facebook.

2) Upload a picture onto our Facebook wall of your baby bump. Whether it’s big or small, bare or clothed, a funny or artistic picture — we want to see what you’ve got! Pictures can be of your current expecting belly or a photo from your previous pregnancy.

3) Get your friends, family and colleagues to “like” your photo. The more “likes” you get, the likelier you are to win a $75 gift code to The Spoiled Mama Website. The photo with the most props on Wednesday, January 4 at 11:59 PST will get to buy whatever her heart desires at our online store!

Pregnancy-safe Nail Polish

Even if you consider yourself organic-conscious, it is not until you’re pregnant that you develop a hyper awareness of all the toxins in our environment that could potentially give your baby a third eye or twelve toes.

All the run-of-the-mill stuff, like washing your hair or putting on deodorant, has to be rethought, and suddenly you are spending forty minutes in the beauty aisle studying every ingredient on the body wash.

But being preggers doesn’t mean relinquishing your right to be cute and fabulous. According to Women’s Wear Daily, nail polish is ahead of the beauty trends with sales up by 59% this year. Yahoo reports that both colored lacquer and top/base coat sales were up 50%, which implies ladies are giving themselves complete at-home manicures. The reasoning behind this? A new slap of color and twinkle on your nails is a great — and more importantly, cheap! — beauty treat for these trying financial times.

You can get on this beauty trend, too, by picking up some pregnancy-safe polishes of your own. The key ingredients we want to avoid are: dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde and toluene.

We’ve been working on switching our site to a newer, more organized format that will hopefully serve our customers better — and it is pretty easy on the eyes, too, eh?
